Barney School of Business Celebrates Hall of Fame Inductees

"What we're here to celebrate tonight is inspiration," said University of Hartford President Lawrence P. Ward. "Inspiration isn't something you can teach in a classroom or offer at a career fair. You can only show up and show out, to show students what's possible and allow them to imagine what success might look like for them. That's what our two honorees are doing-shining a light for the next generation of UHart students to follow."

Both inductees addressed the next generation of Barney students in their remarks. Schmidt shared how the Barney School helped shape her path to her current role as Chief Commercial Officer at Precision Valve Corporation. She encouraged students to embrace resilience, highlighting that "no doesn't mean 'no' - it means new opportunity." Rejection, she explained, often redirects you toward the path you're meant to take.

Moses, now President, Founder, and CEO of United Entertainment Group, reflected on his own career journey. He urged students to "let your work speak louder than your title," adding that "success is performance minus expectations" and encouraging them to "stay curious, not certain." He was introduced with heartfelt words by two close friends and fraternity brothers, UHart Board of Regents officers Mike Daglio '91 and Anthony Asante '91, M'93.

Also giving remarks were Aarti S. Ivanic, dean of the Barney School of Business, and Jim Hogan '82, M'05, Chair of the Board of Visitors. Board Co-Chair Kim Goodwin M'00 presented the Board of Visitors Scholarship Award to students Isaac Fatolla '28 and Natasha Brissett '28.

The celebration continued with a reception in the Auerbach Stanley Black & Decker Commons, where students had the opportunity to network with the inductees and fellow alumni.

The Barney School of Business is proud to recognize alumni whose professional achievements and leadership have made a meaningful impact on the business community. The Hall of Fame celebrates these distinguished graduates-and serves as an enduring source of inspiration for current and future generations of Barney students.
