The first 2026 World Cup soccer game in North Texas is Sunday, June 14, and Garland is ready to welcome soccer fans!
506 Art at 506 Main St. in Downtown is an Instagram-worthy destination filled with the flags of countries participating in the World Cup. There are also mini soccer tables for your enjoyment at 506 Art and across the street on the Downtown Square. These installments will be available throughout the World Cup.
While Downtown, soccer enthusiasts can also shop the Cowboy Hat Capital of Texas. Master Hatters of Texas - crafting Western hats in Garland since 1968 - will open a limited-time retail location Downtown on Thursday, June 11. Located at 116 S. Sixth St., the shop will be open from noon to 7 p.m. Wednesdays through Saturdays through July 18. Want to keep shopping? And don't miss your chance to snap a photo with Garland's Big Hat, another Instagram-worthy landmark in the heart of Downtown at 420 Main St.! At 20 feet long, 16 feet wide, 6 feet tall and 15 feet above the Square, you can't miss it.
There will also be soccer-themed activities when Garland hosts its annual Red, White & You Independence Day celebration from 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, July 3, on the Downtown Square. The evening will include live music, delicious food, family-friendly games and a spectacular fireworks show accompanied by the Garland Symphony Orchestra.
