Sparks, Nev. - The City of Sparks has selected Ely-based artist Jamie Vincek to create a new mural inside the Tony Armstrong Amphitheater on Victorian Avenue.
Vincek is a painter and mural artist with a background in illustration and large-scale public art. She has spent more than 15 years developing a visual practice rooted in storytelling, color exploration and public engagement.
Her work reflects a blend of traditional techniques and contemporary style, incorporating elements of abstraction, stylized realism and trompe l'oeil - a technique that uses realistic imagery to create the illusion of three-dimensional space on a two-dimensional surface. The mural will honor the city's heritage and highlight Sparks' role in shaping the American West.
"We are excited to have selected Jamie Vincek to paint a new mural inside the Tony Armstrong Amphitheater," said Special Events Supervisor Raquel Monserrat. "Her design beautifully reflects the rich history of the City of Sparks and serves as a meaningful celebration of Sparks' history."
The community is invited to attend the official mural unveiling during the Celebrate Sparks event on Saturday, June 27, beginning at 4 p.m. at the Tony Armstrong Amphitheater. The celebration will include live music, food trucks, local vendors and guided history tours in partnership with the Sparks Heritage Museum.
The Celebrate Sparks event and mural project is funded by Travel Nevada in conjunction with the America 250 initiative.
