Deputy Foreign Ministers Robert Kupiecki and Marcin Bosacki met today in Warsaw with Andriy Yermak, Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine. The talks focused on Poland's support for Ukraine in its fight against the Russian aggression, and on Warsaw-Kyiv cooperation in dealing with challenges to regional security.
The meeting participants emphasised the particular significance of cooperation between the defence industries of Poland and Ukraine. The strengthening of shared production capacities and the exchange of experience in military technologies are crucial for the defence of Ukraine and for enhancing cooperation in the region in the face of the ever growing threat posed by Russia.
The interlocutors agreed that the unanimity of international community, especially in regard to Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, is crucial for achieving a fair and lasting peace. They stressed that such measures must encompass military, political, and economic dimensions, including the toughening of sanctions against Russia.
A key challenge identified by all democratic countries is how to effectively counter Russian disinformation. Deputy Ministers Robert Kupiecki and Marcin Bosacki also noted the importance of clear communication in both Poland and Ukraine. They emphasised that showcasing the full spectrum of Poland-Ukraine relations, including cooperation between businesses, NGOs, and local governments, is essential to improving the public perception of Poland's support for Ukraine. This approach could also highlight the scale of economic potential for Polish and Ukrainian companies engaged in Ukraine's reconstruction.
The meeting reaffirmed Poland's steadfast solidarity with Ukraine, as expressed through military and economic assistance as well as diplomatic initiatives in international forums. The participants reiterated their commitment to further strengthening the partnership between Poland and Ukraine.
