El Día de los Muertos is a vibrant and colorful tradition in Mexican culture that honors and remembers loved ones who have passed. People build altars adorned with offerings such as flowers, paper decorations, food, pictures, and candles in memory of their deceased loved ones.
The event will commence with the Construcción de Altar/Altar Building, a community altar inviting the public to leave mementos and notes for loved ones. The program will also feature a presentation by the Zimmerli Art Museum.
Attendees can enjoy traditional crafts, displays celebrating the Day of the Dead, and samples of pan de muerto (bread) and champurrado (Mexican hot chocolate) generously donated by Gaby's Bakery. Food samples are limited.
