English-Language Monthly Magazine KOREA Wins the iF Design Award 2026, One of the World's Top Three Design Awards

KOREA, the English-language periodical published by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism (Minister CHAE Hwi-young, MCST), won the main award in the Public & Cause Branding category of the Branding & Communication Design discipline at the iF Design Award 2026, one of the world's most prestigious design competitions.
Established in 1953 in Hannover, Germany, the iF Design Award is one of the world's most authoritative international design competitions and is considered one of the world's top three design awards, alongside Germany's Red Dot Design Award and the United States' International Design Excellence Awards (IDEA).
This year, over 10,000 entries from 68 countries were submitted across 9 disciplines, including Product Design, Branding & Communication Design, and User Experience (UX). A panel of 129 international jurors selected the winners based on a comprehensive evaluation of design innovation, communication effectiveness, social impact, and UX.
"KOREA" Recognized for Its International Competitiveness in Promoting Korean Culture
The award recognizes KOREA for integrating Korea's cultural and artistic identity through a contemporary visual language and for effectively combining editorial design with content to ensure intuitive accessibility for international readers.
An MCST policy official stated, "This award demonstrates that KOREA, which promotes Korean culture to global audiences, has earned international recognition for its competitiveness," adding, "The MCST will continue to expand our country's brand value through creative content and design.
