Political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Vietnam

On October 27, political consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Armenia and Vietnam were held in Hanoi, chaired by Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Armenia Mnatsakan Safaryan and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam Le Thi Thu Hang.

The parties discussed a wide range of issues on the agenda of bilateral relations, including high-level mutual visits, mutual support within the framework of international organizations, as well as the expansion of cooperation in the fields of trade, technology, innovation, education, and culture.

Latest regional developments in the South Caucasus and Southeast Asia regions were touched upon, including the agreements reached in Washington between Armenia and Azerbaijan. An agreement was reached on exchange of information on issues of mutual interest, international format events to be held in the two countries, as well as on further mutual assistance in multilateral cooperation platforms, and joint efforts aimed at strengthening the legal and treaty field.

During his visit to Hanoi, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs Mnatsakan Safaryan met with Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade of Vietnam, Co-Chair of the Armenian-Vietnamese Intergovernmental Commission Phan Thi Thang. They discussed issues related to holding the second session of the Intergovernmental Commission, ways to expand trade turnover between the two countries, as well as initiatives aimed at activating ties between business communities. The possibilities of cooperation in the field of tourism were also addressed.

Mnatsakan Safaryan also met with Deputy Minister of Education and Training of Vietnam Le Quan. During the meeting, they discussed the opportunities to organize student and professional exchanges between universities, the issues of participation in scientific and educational conferences, as well as the opening of a TUMO innovative technologies center in Vietnam.
