New York, NY - June 9th, 2026- NielsenIQ (NIQ), a leader in consumer intelligence, today announced that beginning June 9th, 2026, John Gamauf has returned to NIQ as a senior advisor for the U.S. Tire Industry Retail Panel, further strengthening NIQ's expertise and capabilities in the tire and automotive aftermarket sectors.
Gamauf-known across the industry as "Johnny G"-brings more than 50 years of experience in the North American tire industry. He began his career on the ground floor as a service technician at Firestone before rising through sales and leadership roles during a nearly four-decade tenure at Bridgestone/Firestone. Among his senior leadership positions, he served as President, Consumer Replacement Tires for Bridgestone/Firestone North America, where he oversaw passenger and light truck tire sales and marketing across the U.S. and Canada.
Throughout his career, Gamauf has played a pivotal role in shaping the modern tire retail landscape, including helping establish Bridgestone's Affiliated Dealer Program and leading during critical industry moments such as the Ford-Firestone recall. He was inducted into the Tire Industry Hall of Fame in 2011 in recognition of his significant contributions and enduring impact.
Following his corporate career, Gamauf continued to influence the industry through consulting work, collaborating with organizations including GfK (now part of NIQ) to help develop tire dealer data panels and advance benchmarking capabilities for retailers and manufacturers. He remains an active industry voice through advisory roles and as host of the "Johnny G & Friends" podcast.
In his new role at NIQ, Gamauf will focus on enhancing the company's U.S. tire retail panel, strengthening partnerships across manufacturers and dealers, and expanding the delivery of actionable insights that drive performance and growth.
