Tempe This Week April 27, 2026

With 100+ degree temperatures just around the corner, starting May 1, Tempe will open its heat relief sites to share resources like utility bill assistance to help keep residents healthy and safe for the coming hot summer months.

Tempe has partnered with Church of the Epiphany to offer a Cooling Center where residents can get water and snacks, rest throughout the day and connect with specialists about resources such as shelter. Tempe Public Library will also serve as a Cooling Center, and four other City facilities are serving as Hydration Stations, offering a temporary place to cool off and get water.

During the summer months and beyond, City, county and state programs such as home repairs and utility bill assistance are available to income-qualified residents to ensure they can stay safe this summer. Find places to cool off, resources, safety tips and more at tempe.gov/HeatRelief.
