Which Dates Could Move GE Aerospace Stock Most

GE Aerospace (GE) stock fell 15.1% between July 30 and October 28, 2026, trailing a 4.4% gain for the S&P 500. This drop occurred even though management raised its 2026 guidance on its October 20 earnings call. Management also said it will give a fuller outlook for 2027 when it reports in January 2027. Below are the dates most likely to move GE Aerospace stock over the next six months, soonest first.

What to watch When Which way it cuts
FAA certification of the upgraded mid-seal on GE9X engines, after which GE Aerospace books the GE9X engines it shipped in fiscal Q3 2026 by the end of 2026 Either way
Fiscal Q4 2026 results and management's fuller 2027 outlook January 2027 Either way
Engine removals for maintenance, which management expects to rise more than 10% from a year earlier first half of 2027 In its favor
Airlines trimming flight schedules, while management counts on departures to grow and says departures drive its services business during 2027 Against the stock

GE Aerospace's January Report And 2027 Outlook

GE Aerospace is expected to report its fiscal Q4 2026 results in January 2027. Management said it will use that report to guide more fully on 2027. The report will first show whether the company met its raised 2026 guidance, which calls for operating profit of $10.9 billion to $11 billion.

The 2027 outlook may matter more. Management said on the October 20 call that the company will come close to its 2028 profit outlook in 2026, two years early, and so the January guidance will set the next target. The 2027 revenue and operating profit guidance in that January report is the number to watch.

How Much Airlines Fly

Management said on the October 20 call that airlines may be trimming their flight schedules, and management called departures what really drives its services business. Services sit inside Commercial Engines & Services, which brought in $33.3 billion of GE Aerospace's $45.9 billion revenue in fiscal 2025.

Management still expects departures to grow in 2027, after a 1% rise in fiscal Q3 2026, and said engine removal rates have stayed steady. If airlines fly less instead, the shortfall would show up in that services business. Departures growth is the measure to watch at the January 2027 report.

Engine Removals In The First Half Of 2027

Management expects engine removals in the first half of 2027 to be up more than 10% from a year earlier. Most of the engines it needs to work on in that half are already in its shops, management said. Management said those removals and a backlog of over $170 billion are what gave it the confidence to raise its 2027 services outlook to low double-digit growth.

That backlog is more than three times the $52.6 billion of revenue GE Aerospace reported over the past twelve months. Management already puts 2027 shop visits for its CFM56 engines closer to the 2,400 mark than the 2,300 mark. The number of CFM56 shop visits it expects for 2027, due with the January 2027 guidance, is the measure to watch.

Can You Hold GE Aerospace Stock Through These Dates?

Holders have just been through the stock's worst fall of the past year, dropping 25.1% from its August 5, 2026 close to its October 23 close. The shares also fell around each of GE Aerospace's last four earnings calls, losing as much as 9.0% around the April 21, 2026 call. The January 2027 report is the next of those calls.

If a fall that size would push you to sell, the position is too large to hold through January. Holding through these dates suits a position small enough that a fall like the one from August to October would not force you to sell.

How To Act On GE?

Not necessarily on GE Aerospace alone, if your goal is long-term wealth. Wealth is built by owning the companies that keep outperforming, the leaders of their industries, wherever they are. Here is one company from GE Aerospace's own industry that has beaten it. Over the five years to October 2026, FTAI Aviation stock rose 758%, while GE Aerospace stock rose 367%.

Finding companies like these takes comparison across industries and sectors, and that is what the Trefis High Quality (HQ) Portfolio does. It holds 30 quality companies in equal weight and, since its inception in September 2020, has returned more than 105%, ahead of a benchmark that combines the S&P 500, S&P Mid-cap and Russell 2000. See how we find the leaders.
