Traffic Shift on Old Alabama Road Beginning Thursday, November 5



CARTERSVILLE, GA - Weather permitting, traffic on Old Alabama Road will be shifted on Thursday and Friday, November 5 and 6 for maintenance work. The traffic shifts will be between Old Old Alabama Road Southeast and Red Top Mountain Road.
On Wednesday, November 5, the eastbound lanes will be closed and traffic will be shifted to one of the westbound lanes. On Thursday, November 6, the westbound lanes will be closed and traffic shifted to one of the eastbound lanes.

Motorists should slow down through the work zone and watch for crews working near the roadway.
  • Advisory: Motorists are advised to expect delays, exercise caution, and reduce their speed while traveling through work zones. Before heading out, get real-time information on work status and traffic conditions. Call 511, visit 511ga.org, or download the Georgia 511 app. Our maintenance team members who repair roads and bridges and our project teams who oversee construction projects are continuing their essential work, while following sanitary work practices prescribed by health agencies to protect themselves and the public from the coronavirus, as are most state DOTs in the U.S.
