UNION CITY, CA, September 12, 2025 - The City of Union City is excited to announce the completion of the Union City Boulevard Bike Lanes Project and invites the community to a ribbon cutting celebration on Saturday, September 27 from 10:00 AM-2:00 PM. The event will take place on Rocklin Drive and Union City Boulevard, nearby Delaine Eastin Elementary School.
The Union City Boulevard Bike Lanes Project spans approximately 2.4 miles, from Smith Street to the southern City limits, and represents a significant investment in safer, more accessible, and sustainable transportation for Union City residents. Enhancements include new protected bike lanes, upgraded traffic signals, reconfigured traffic lanes, and improved roadway design to ensure a safer experience for bicyclists, pedestrians, and motorists alike. These upgrades also strengthen connectivity to neighborhood parks, schools, and regional trail networks, promoting healthier and greener travel options throughout the community.
Whether you're on bike, foot, skates, scooter, wheelchair, or anything in between, this is a great opportunity to celebrate safer streets and a more connected Union City. Come roll, stroll, or ride to this FREE, family-friendly event.
