Illegal Alcohol Sales Shutdown Winston-Salem Night Club After Community Complaints

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.

After receiving several complaints from the community about illegal activities occurring at a Winston-Salem business, the North Carolina Alcohol Law Enforcement Division (ALE) launched an investigation into Maximum Private Lounge, located at 3301N Liberty Street in Winston-Salem.

During the investigation, undercover ALE special agents entered the establishment on multiple occasions and noted several ABC violations, including the sale of alcoholic beverages without permits.

As a result of these findings, ALE special agents, with assistance of the Winston-Salem Police Department, conducted a search warrant at Maximum in the early hours of August 8.

ALE special agents seized a half ounce of cocaine, approximately 10 firearms to include three stolen firearms. Several of the seized firearms were possessed by convicted felons. Agents also seized crack cocaine, alcohol and ammunition.

Agents charged the following individuals:

Ronald C. Maxxwell, 51, of Winston-Salem - Business owner

  • Felony Maintain a Business for a Controlled Substance - 3 counts
  • Misdemeanor Sell without Permits - 3 counts
  • Misdemeanor Possession/Consumption of Alcohol without Permits - 3 counts

Elijah Lamont Quattlebaum 55, of Winston-Salem

  • Felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon
  • Felony Possession of Stolen Firearm
  • Felony Possession of Cocaine
  • Misdemeanor Unlicensed Armed Security

Delano Decosta Davis II, 38, Winston-Salem

  • Felony Possession of a Firearm by Felon
  • Misdemeanor Carry Concealed Weapon

Caesar Z. York, 53, of Winston-Salem

  • Misdemeanor Sell Alcohol without Permits

Shahad S. Clark, 37, of Greensboro

  • Misdemeanor Unauthorized Possession of Alcohol

Christopher James Redd, 30, of Winston-Salem

  • Misdemeanor Sell Alcohol without Permits

Christopher Johanne Garris, 39, of High Point

  • Misdemeanor Sell Alcohol without Permits

Tyree Shamar Brown, 24, of Winston-Salem

  • Misdemeanor Unlicensed Armed Security
  • Unarmed Security Carrying Firearm

Malik Louallen, 27, of Winston-Salem
