Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon
(PEORIA, IL) On Friday, September 12, 2025, at approximately 4:50 p.m., members of the Peoria Police Department's Special Investigations Division (SID) were conducting an investigation in the 900 block of W. Brotherson Avenue.
While conducting their investigation, officers approached two male juveniles. One juvenile immediately fled on foot.
After a brief foot pursuit, officers apprehended the 16-year-old male. During a search of his flight path, officers recovered a loaded 9mm Glock handgun.
The juvenile was arrested for Aggravated Unlawful Use of a Weapon, No FOID, and Resisting Police. He was taken into custody and later released to his mother.
