Community Support for Senior Hurricane Preparedness

The Palm Beach County Community Services Department is committed to supporting seniors before, during, and after hurricane season.

On Friday, August 7, staff from the Division of Senior & Veteran Services hosted a free hurricane-preparedness event at Century Village, providing residents with meal kits and essential emergency resources.

Division team members greeted residents, helped load supplies into vehicles, and offered information to help seniors prepare for emergencies. Division Director Natalie Vasquez and CSD Deputy Director Keith Clinkscale also joined the team in supporting the event.

Helping seniors prepare for emergencies is one of the many ways the Community Services Department works to strengthen the community and ensure that its most vulnerable residents have the resources and support they need.

Special thanks to GA Food Services Inc. for providing the meal kits through funding from a partnership with the Older Americans Grant Program.

In addition to events like this, the County's three senior centers offer breakfast and lunch daily, along with monthly produce boxes. Seniors are encouraged to stop by the center nearest them to learn more about available resources and services.
