On Sunday, November 2, 2025 at 2:32 a.m., Portland Police Officers assigned to Central Precinct responded to a report of shots fired in the area of Northwest 9th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street. When officers arrived, they found a female victim with a gunshot wound to her leg. They applied trauma first aid, including a tourniquet, and summoned paramedics. The victim was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
As they were stabilizing the scene, officers were alerted that a male had arrived at a local hospital by private vehicle with a gunshot wound. Initial information was that the male had also been injured near Northwest 9th Avenue and Northwest Couch Street.
The injuries to the two victims are believed to be non-life threatening.
The suspect or suspects left the scene and no immediate arrests were made.
Detectives with the Enhanced Community Safety Team (ECST) responded to the scene to investigate the shooting. During the investigation, Northwest 9th Avenue is closed between West Burnside Street and Northwest Davis Street, and Northwest Couch Street is closed between Northwest Park Avenue to Northwest 10th Avenue.
There is reason to believe that there were numerous witnesses in the area at the time of the shooting, and some may have left before talking to police. If anyone has information about this case and has not spoken to police, please e-mail [email protected] attn: ECST and reference case number 25-300799.
