Jack Ciattarelli’s Running Mate Okays Tax Hikes for Working New Jerseyans — Just Not For Millionaires Arrow

Last night, Jack Ciattarelli's running mate highlighted once again what a Ciattarelli administration would mean for New Jerseyans: taking even more money out of New Jerseyans' pockets while protecting the ultra-wealthy.

During the Lieutenant Governor debate, Jack's running mate said the quiet part out loud: "Taxes are on the table, but I'd be careful of millionaire taxes."

Jack Ciattarelli has been an outspoken supporter of Donald Trump and his Billionaire-First Budget, under which 390,000 New Jerseyans will lose health insurance while the ultrawealthy get a massive tax break.

In stark contrast, Mikie Sherrill continues to center her campaign on making New Jersey more affordable, including declaring a state of emergency on day one to end the utility rate hikes and lower energy costs.

New Jerseyans deserve someone who is fighting to lower their costs and is not beholden to the ultrawealthy - and that champion is Mikie Sherrill.

In response, DNC Deputy Communications Director Abhi Rahman released the following statement:

"Jack Ciattarelli and Donald Trump are hellbent on ensuring the rich get richer, while working families across New Jersey get poorer and sicker. It is outrageous that the Ciattarelli ticket doesn't think the ultra-wealthy need to pay their fair share, but they don't have any qualms about raising taxes on working New Jerseyans. It's also no surprise that Jack Ciattarelli supported Trump's Billionaire-First Budget - the largest wealth transfer in history from the working and middle-class New Jerseyans to the ultrarich - and now Ciattarelli's campaign is opening the door to raising taxes for New Jersey families, just not millionaires and billionaires. Electing Jack Ciattarelli would be a total betrayal to New Jerseyans who actually work for a living. New Jersey families deserve someone who is fighting to lower their costs and isn't beholden to Donald Trump and billionaires, and that leader is Mikie Sherrill."
