Critical infrastructure projects requiring N+1 energy resources often face a significant challenge: the limited availability of battery energy storage management systems developed by U.S.-owned companies. This gap has delayed, and in some cases jeopardized, projects that require domestically developed PPC, EMS, and BMS solutions.
To address this issue, renewable energy provider Aderis Energy has partnered with WEG, a global leader in electric power and automation, to deliver a fully U.S.-developed power management system. The solution provides N+1 operational capability, operations and maintenance insights, and critical black start functionality to support grid restoration when needed.
The collaboration combined WEG's expertise in battery management control logic with Aderis's proven digital platforms - Acuity for edge monitoring and control, and FOCUS for cloud-based asset management. Together, the companies brought to market a ready-to-deploy solution in record time, designed with security, performance, and resiliency as core requirements.
Key Highlights
The impact of this partnership is already tangible. One of the first systems developed under the collaboration has been deployed in Aspen, Colorado, providing large-scale battery energy storage to help the city meet its economic, resiliency, and sustainability goals.
Adam Foodman, CEO of Aderis Energy, emphasized that the partnership ensures access to high-performance, U.S.-developed solutions designed to meet the mission-critical energy demands of government and strategic infrastructure sectors.
By bridging a major market gap, Aderis Energy and WEG are enabling the broader adoption of renewable energy storage systems across critical industries, setting a new standard for resilience and sustainability.
