UL Solutions Warns of Unauthorized UL Marks on Fire Sprinklers

NORTHBROOK, Ill. - May 15, 2026 - UL Solutions (NYSE: ULS), a global leader in applied safety science, issued a public notice regarding fire sprinklers (product model GL5651) sold by Fujian Guangbo Fire Equipment Co. Ltd. in China, which bear unauthorized UL certification marks for the United States and Canada and may pose safety risks.

These products have not been evaluated by UL Solutions to the appropriate safety standards, and it is unknown whether they meet any safety requirements. UL Solutions recommends that these fire sprinklers be removed from service and replaced with properly certified products.

The affected fire sprinklers bear an unauthorized UL certification mark and the following on the product labels:

• GLOBE
• 2024 Product Model: GL5651
• Temperature: 155F/68C.

The notice does not involve authentic Globe manufactured Model GL5651 fire sprinklers, which can be identified by having the date code on the deflector (a circular metal plate) and not on the sprinkler frame. Additionally, authentic Globe sprinklers do not employ an O-Ring seal.

"The presence of unauthorized UL Marks on these devices is a serious concern," said Karine Johnfroe, vice president and general manager of the Built Environment group at UL Solutions. "We urge anyone who has purchased these devices to remove them from service immediately and replace them with properly certified fire sprinklers."
