Campus-Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) training, Oct. 14-16

UAA employees are invited to join the Campus-Community Emergency Response Team (C-CERT) with training held Oct. 14-16. The C-CERT Program combines serious disaster preparedness training with hands-on skills that could make all the difference when it matters most.

What you'll learn

Our comprehensive program covers the essentials of emergency response, including fire safety, light search and rescue techniques, team organization, and disaster medical operations. You'll gain practical knowledge about disaster preparedness for hazards specific to our area.

When disaster strikes

Armed with your classroom training and exercise experience, you'll be ready to assist neighbors and colleagues during those critical moments when professional responders haven't yet arrived on scene. It's about being the help that's needed, right where you are.

Beyond the basics

C-CERT members don't just respond-they lead! You'll have opportunities to support emergency response agencies and take an active role in community preparedness projects. Think of it as being part of an exclusive preparedness network that makes our entire community more resilient.

Your training journey

Participants will complete a multi-day comprehensive Homeland Security/FEMA course, proudly sponsored by UAA and the State of Alaska. Plus, every graduate receives a fully-equipped go bag packed with valuable tools designed specifically for emergency response situations.

Because when emergencies happen, trained communities respond better.

Full-time employees interested in joining this impactful program should contact Campus Emergency Manager Anthony A. Picasso at [email protected].

Event dates - Oct. 14-16
Event start time - 8 a.m.
