On January 27, in Strasbourg, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with the President of the European Court of Human Rights Mattias Guyomar.
The interlocutors exchanged views on cooperation between Armenia and the ECtHR, issues on ensuring the rule of law and promoting independent judiciary. Both sides expressed satisfaction with the active engagement with the Court at various levels.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Mattias Guyomar touched upon the implementation of ECtHR judgments. Minister Mirzoyan noted Armenia's high rate of execution of judgments and the closure of supervision by CM, emphasizing Armenia's commitment to continuous reforms aimed at strengthening democratic principles and protecting human rights.
"Armenia stands firmly alongside the Court, first and foremost, the principles and values underpinning its work, and attaches great importance to cooperation with the ECtHR for advancing the democratic agenda in the benefit of the citizens of Armenia," Minister Mirzoyan emphasized.
