Dr. Harry Mikael Voogjarv, Regional Supervising Coroner, North Region, Sudbury Office, announced today that a date has been scheduled for the inquest into the death of Mark Paul Joseph Beskorowany. The inquest will begin at 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, April 8, 2026. Bonnie Goldberg will be the presiding officer and Jai Dhar will be the inquest counsel.
Mr. Beskorowany, 54 years old, died in hospital on August 21, 2019, from injuries sustained while working at a surface mining site in River Valley on August 19, 2019. An inquest into his death is mandatory under the Coroners Act.
The inquest will examine the circumstances surrounding Mr. Beskorowany's death. The jury may make recommendations aimed at preventing further deaths.
The inquest is expected to last seven days and hear from approximately six witnesses.
