Nextdoor Publishes 2025 Transparency Report

Report Highlights Integrity Tools and Three-Tiered Moderation That Keep Neighborhood Conversations Productive and Trustworthy

SAN FRANCISCO, CA, March 9, 2026 - Nextdoor (NYSE: NXDR) released its 2025 Transparency Report, showcasing the impact of ongoing investments in platform integrity, safety, and neighborhood engagement. As the platform evolves into a dynamic feed of neighbor-generated content and locally relevant information, the report outlines how Nextdoor maintains a welcoming environment for its more than 105 million verified neighbors.

The 2025 Report covers:

  • An overview of Nextdoor's moderation framework, including the roles of neighbor reports, community volunteers, the Neighborhood Operations team, and automated systems.
  • Safety and account protection measures, such as updated registration and verification flows and detection of fraud and scams.
  • Updates to Community Guidelines and other policies, specifically regarding spam, misinformation, local support, and publisher responsibilities.
  • Platform metrics and data, covering content reports, removals, and appeals, as well as the handling of government requests for information.

It is important to note that in 2025, Nextdoor launched a multi-phase product transformation that expands the platform beyond neighbor-generated content to a dynamic feed featuring timely, locally relevant information such as news and alerts. Now, Nextdoor partners with more than 4,000 local news publishers that contribute news article content that represents approximately 7% of items in neighbors' feeds, while Alert partners including Waze, Weather.com, and the U.S. Geological Survey provide real-time traffic, weather, and safety alerts to neighbors on Nextdoor. AI and machine learning help surface and personalize this content per neighbor.

Key Findings from the 2025 Report:

  • A Healthy Community: The vast majority of interactions on Nextdoor are constructive. In 2025, less than 1% of all content was reported as Hurtful, and less than 0.5% of all content was reported as Harmful, and our AI-powered "Kindness Reminders" helped neighbors resolve conflicts before they started.
  • Fast Response Times: When issues arise, Nextdoor acts quickly. Our Neighborhood Operations team maintained a median removal time of under 7 hours for violative content - helping to ensure the feed remains safe and reliable.
  • Advanced Security: Nextdoor is stopping bad actors earlier. New verification requirements and machine-learning models have improved our ability to block fraud and account takeovers.

"This year's report reflects Nextdoor's continued investment in the safety-driven technologies and community-driven practices that make neighborhood vitality possible," said Sophia Contreras Schwartz, Nextdoor's Chief Legal Officer. "Nextdoor remains committed to creating a welcoming platform where neighbors, businesses of all sizes, advertisers, and partners can build authentic connections and share essential information, both online and in real life."

At the heart of the platform is a differentiated asset that's hard to replicate, rooted in real people, real locations, and real communities, covering more than 350,000 neighborhoods and reaching 1 in 3 U.S. households. Nextdoor builds a trusted platform by connecting real neighbors and verified local organizations, enforcing clear community guidelines, and using a mix of human judgment and safety technology to keep local conversations authentic, civil, and useful.
