Capito Participates in West Virginia Chamber of Commerce’s 90th Annual Business Summit

WHITE SULPHUR SPRINGS, W.Va. - U.S. Senator Shelley Moore Capito (R-W.Va.) this week attended the West Virginia Chamber of Commerce's 90th Annual Meeting and Business Summit where she participated in a number of events with business and community leaders.

On Wednesday, Senate Capito addressed the West Virginia Manufacturers Association's Chemical Industry Council meeting. This annual meeting brings together West Virginia's industrial sectors including chemical manufacturers, energy producers, as well as policymakers to align on operational strategy and legislative advocacy.

Senator Capito later participated in a fireside chat with the Nature Conservancy focused on leveraging West Virginia's natural resources to diversify the state's economy. A large focus of the discussion centered around Senator Capito's role in the creation of the New River Gorge National Park and Preserve.

Senator Capito ended the day by delivering remarks at the 12th annual Friends of "Discover the Real West Virginia" (DRWV) reception. DRWV aims to showcase the best of West Virginia to the world, including the many competitive advantages West Virginia offers global manufacturers looking to invest.

On Thursday, Senator Capito addressed the entire business summit, providing an update on the latest from the U.S. Senate, her travels across the state in recent weeks, and her efforts to deliver for West Virginia's communities.

"The West Virginia Chamber's Annual Business Summit is always an energizing opportunity to hear directly from the job creators, innovators, and community leaders who are shaping our state's future. I'm proud of what we've accomplished together to expand opportunity, strengthen our infrastructure, and grow our economy, but there is still more work to do. West Virginia's future depends on our ability to create a pro-business, pro-growth environment where communities and employers can thrive, where our leaders listen to the people of our state on the issues that matter most to them. Gatherings like this summit bring the right people to the table with the shared belief of keeping the state moving forward, and I'm encouraged by the direction our state is heading," Senator Capito said.
