Travel back in time to the Roaring Twenties at Speakeasy Night from 6:30-9:30 pm, Friday, October 17 at the Greensboro History Museum, 130 Summit Ave. Guests can enjoy dancing to the Mint Julep Jazz Band, signature cocktails, snacks from GIA, and much more.
Whether it's flapper dresses, feather boas, or dapper boater hats, dressing up is encouraged. Guests will be able to explore the museum and enjoy games of chance in the gambling den or play a Prohibition sleuth in the Gate City Mystery Game. Early arrivals can practice their steps with dance lessons from the Cat's Pajamas at 6:30. Durham's Mint Julep Jazz Band will take over at 7:30 with their vintage ensemble sound of 1920s arrangements.
Admission is $35 per person ($30 for GHM Inc. members) plus tax and fees. Tickets include a drink voucher and are on sale now at this website.
Speakeasy Night at the Museum is the kick off for a full season of celebrations as the Greensboro History Museum marks a century of being open to the public. A brand new exhibition, GHM100: Treasures. Legacies. Remix opens on November 11, one hundred years from the day the museum first opened its doors in 1925.
