Qualtrics launches real-time rounding solution to improve patient experience and reduce administrative overload

PROVO, Utah & SEATTLE - April 27, 2026 - Qualtrics today launched Qualtrics® Rounding, a real-time rounding solution that enables care teams to take action on patient and employee feedback when and where it matters, building the safety and trust that lead to positive patient experience, while simultaneously reducing the administrative load on providers and staff.

While many rounding programs run on disconnected workflows that make it difficult for providers to take timely action to patient feedback, the new Qualtrics tool, now generally available, gives health systems a single platform to combine rounding and patient experience data. It replaces paper-based and siloed rounding processes that generate no learnings with a connected system that makes every round actionable while simultaneously driving system-wide improvements across units and facilities.

From understanding to action in healthcare

Qualtrics brings new capabilities to rounding with a connected system that makes every round actionable. Waiting to address feedback until it comes in from post-discharge surveys can negatively affect patient experience scores. With the new Qualtrics solution, patient concerns trigger automated workflows for immediate follow-up. Care teams can surface medication questions, safety concerns, and coordination gaps in real time before discharge, and current patient data and rounding history help providers focus attention where it matters most.

Staff recognition gives providers direct visibility into patient feedback, supporting a culture of appreciation alongside accountability.

The platform also lays the foundation for AI-powered rounding, capturing unstructured signals that can be summarized and acted on automatically, freeing care teams to focus on patients.

Turning rounding into a strategic advantage

New findings from the Qualtrics 2026 Healthcare Experience Trends Report show that patients have significantly higher levels of trust when they feel cared about as individuals and see teamwork among their care team. Rounding is where those moments happen, but where most health systems have no visibility.

Community Health Network demonstrates how better rounding leads to improved patient outcomes. After unifying two disconnected rounding programs with Qualtrics, Community identified three bedside experiences that predict readmission risk:

  • Teamwork: Patients who perceived strong teamwork had 7.4 hours shorter stays and 3.3% fewer 30-day returns;
  • Safety: Patients who felt safe had 5 hours shorter stays and 3.4% fewer returns;
  • Discharge readiness: Every one-point improvement in discharge readiness corresponded with 17% lower readmission likelihood.

With that understanding, Community redesigned rounding scripts to reinforce coordination across the care team, surface and follow through on safety concerns, and treat discharge readiness as a clinical discipline addressed throughout the stay.

"Rounding reinforces what matters most in healthcare - human connection," said Dr. Patrick McGill, President and CEO of Community Health Network. "By engaging patients intentionally and addressing concerns in the moment, we strengthen trust, empower our caregivers, and improve outcomes. Because at its core, healthcare is humans showing up for other humans."

"Insight alone does not improve patient outcomes. Action does," said Dr. Adrienne Boissy, Chief Medical Officer at Qualtrics. "Every visit to a patient's room is an opportunity to understand what that person actually values-not just in their clinical care, but as a human being navigating what might be one of the most vulnerable experiences of their life. These new capabilities enable teams to take that nugget of insight, route it, escalate it, and solve issues - even create even a bit of joy - across every unit, every shift, at scale."
