Norton Rose Fulbright achieves its strongest Chambers Canada results to date

Norton Rose Fulbright has achieved record results in Chambers Canada 2027, earning 47 firm rankings, 142 individual rankings and recognition for 127 lawyers.

The results span the practices and industries that drive the Canadian economy, including corporate and commercial law, artificial intelligence, banking and finance, competition and antitrust, employment and labour, energy, infrastructure, litigation, privacy and data protection, real estate, restructuring and insolvency, and tax.

New Band 1 recognition

The firm earned four new Band 1 rankings:

• Corporate/Commercial: Shareholder Activism & Takeover Defence (Ontario)
• Corporate/Commercial: The Elite (Alberta)
• Employment & Labour (Quebec)
• Litigation: General Commercial (Alberta)

The firm maintained Band 1 rankings in Corporate/Commercial: The Elite (Quebec), Employment & Labour (Nationwide - Canada), Employment & Labour (Ontario), Litigation: General Commercial (Quebec) and White-collar Crime & Government Investigations (Nationwide - Canada) and achieved a further 16 Band 2 rankings across regions and practices.

Recognition in emerging and evolving areas

In the inaugural Artificial Intelligence category, Norton Rose Fulbright entered the guide with a Band 2 firm ranking, while Maya Medeiros was recognized as a Band 1 practitioner. The firm also earned new rankings in Public Procurement, Litigation: Administrative & Public Law, and Real Estate (British Columbia).

Additional achievements included stronger rankings for Competition/Antitrust, employment and labour in British Columbia, class action defence nationally, general commercial litigation in Ontario, and real estate in Ontario and Quebec.

Recognition of our people

Individual recognition remained a key strength of this year's results.

A record 127 lawyers were recognized across 142 rankings, including 23 lawyers earning their first Chambers rankings and 29 new individual rankings. The results include a new Senior Statesperson ranking for Rick Borden, eight Band 1 lawyers, 17 Up and Coming lawyers and six Associates to Watch, demonstrating the depth of talent across the firm and the strength of its next generation of leaders.
