Shoreham Resident Charged with Sexual Assault

The Attorney General's Office today announced that Osain Cross, 32, of Shoreham, Vermont, was arraigned on two counts of felony sexual assault. The charges brought against Mr. Cross were the result of an investigation conducted by the Vermont State Police, New Haven Barracks.

Mr. Cross pleaded not guilty at the arraignment today in Vermont Superior Court, Addison Criminal Division. The Court, Judge Alison Arms presiding, ordered Mr. Cross to post $10,000 bail and to obey conditions of release including a no-contact order and a curfew.

The Attorney General's Office emphasizes that individuals charged with a crime are legally presumed innocent until their guilt is proven beyond a reasonable doubt in a court of law.
