President Gitanas Nausėda will participate in the European Council meeting in Brussels on 18-19 June. The key items on the agenda include support for Ukraine, the European Union's multiannual financial framework, competitiveness and global economic challenges, EU defense and security, as well as other current issues on the EU agenda.
During his working visit to Belgium on 17 June, the President will also meet with King Philippe of the Belgians and Prime Minister Bart De Wever. The meetings will focus on bilateral relations between Lithuania and Belgium, regional and transatlantic security, the European Union's enlargement and competitiveness agenda, preparations for the Lithuanian Presidency of the Council of the European Union in the first half of 2027, and prospects for strengthening defense and economic cooperation.
