New Student Snapshot: Yariel Valdes

When Yariel Valdes was choosing a university, he looked for one with smaller class sizes and a close-knit community-and he found those things at TLU. "These factors, coupled with other ones, I believe will allow me to grow, connect, and thrive here," the dual theology and sociology major said. Fun fact about Yariel: He can name a whole bunch of countries just by looking at their flags. A memory like that will come in handy around exam time!

As he gets settled into life at TLU, Yariel is looking forward to two things: "being able to grow more independently and change bad habits to better ones."
