Stafford County Recognizing Veteran-Owned and Military-Spouse Businesses at 2026 Veterans Day Ceremony

Stafford County will recognize veteran-owned and military-spouse-owned businesses at its 2026 Veterans Day Ceremony. The ceremony will take place at 10 am on Friday, November 6, 2026, at the Stafford Armed Services Memorial on the Government Center Campus. Seventeen businesses will be represented and recognized on behalf of the veteran business community.

"We embrace the more than 20,000 veterans who call Stafford County home," said Chairman of the Board of Supervisors Deuntay Diggs. "We want to especially recognize military and military spouse business owners who have chosen to build businesses in Stafford to continue serving their community." Forty businesses owned by veterans and military spouses participate in the Legacy Business Recognition Program, a Department of Economic Development initiative that honors small businesses that help shape Stafford's community. Seventeen businesses agreed to be a part of the Veterans Day Ceremony. The award-winning program highlights businesses in operation for 20 or more years.

Chairman Deuntay Diggs will be the keynote speaker. Sue Henderson, a USAF veteran and co-owner of Henderson Productions, will be the guest singer of the National Anthem. Special veteran pins will be handed out as supplies last. The Stafford Armed Services Memorial is located at 1300 Courthouse Road, Stafford, VA 22554.

As in past years, residents can post pics and messages about their favorite veterans on a social media wall on Stafford's website. Residents may visit www.staffordcountyva.gov/veteransupport to post directly to the social wall or by posting from a public social media profile with #StaffordVets. Facebook users who have private accounts may make individual posts public. The posts will be aggregated in an online social media wall.

Stafford will honor all veterans by participating in Operation Green Light for Veterans for the third consecutive year. Operation Green Light is a nationwide initiative led by the National Association of Counties and the National Association of County Veterans Service Officers. The initiative encourages counties, businesses and residents to display green lights to show support for veterans and raise awareness of the challenges they face during the transition from military to civilian life.
