Funding Includes $18,745,345 for Expansion and Reconstruction at Syracuse Hancock International Airport
Today, U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand, ranking member of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Transportation, Housing and Urban Development, and Related Agencies (THUD), announced $20,687,512 in Airport Infrastructure Grants (AIG) for airports across New York State. Established under the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law - which was signed by President Biden in 2021 - and administered through the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), the AIG program helps U.S. airports modernize their facilities through projects to improve safety, sustainability, and passenger experience.
"As we work to make traveling across New York safer and more efficient, I am proud to deliver this critical federal funding for airports across New York State," said Senator Gillibrand."These investments will modernize outdated airport infrastructure in communities statewide, and I will keep fighting to ensure our airports have the resources they need to serve New Yorkers safely."
