Seeker Music Launches Industry’s First Catalog-Flip Record Label

Los Angeles - Seeker Music, the creator-led music rights, publishing and record company led by award-winning songwriter and creative executive Evan Bogart, is relaunching its record label imprint music is fun as the industry's first ever label built entirely around catalog flips. Its inaugural release, "Vacation" by Flo Rida featuring Sage the Gemini, is out today. The new track reimagines The Go-Go's classic of the same name co-written by Charlotte Caffey, whose catalog is represented by Seeker.

The newly reimagined music is fun turns Seeker's catalog - valued at more than $400 million and spanning the songs of Joan Jett, Christopher Cross, Run the Jewels, Jay Sean, Jon Bellion, and more - into a proactive engine for new music. The label will bring together contemporary artists, songwriters and producers to sample, interpolate, remix and reinvent songs across the portfolio, with Seeker identifying concepts, assembling collaborators and releasing the resulting music from start to finish.

"Vacation" is the blueprint. Earlier this year, Seeker VP of A&R Andrew Grant flew to Nashville for a writing camp where he brought together Seeker-signed songwriter Kendall Goodman and producer Carlo Colasacco for a session specifically focused on flipping The Go-Go's hit. Having already discussed the idea with Flo Rida, Grant sent him the resulting track; Flo Rida and Sage the Gemini responded by immediately flying to Los Angeles to finish and record it at Seeker's studios in Frogtown.

Built around The Go-Go track's original chorus, Flo's rapping, and a tropical, song-of-the-summer vibe, "Vacation" connects one of the defining pop songs of the early '80s with two artists whose music has generated billions of streams and helped shape modern pop and hip-hop. It also reflects one of Seeker's key strengths: a catalog spanning enduring classics and contemporary hits, combined with the creative relationships needed to bring those worlds together.

Bogart said: "At Seeker, we believe celebrating great music isn't just about preserving legacy. It's about extending it by introducing the songs we love to new generations. In the six years since we formed the company, we've shown through hits with Shaboozey, Pop Smoke, Coco Jones, Drake, and more, that we know how to successfully take an incredible song and re-invent it. What we're building with music is fun is 30-plus years of knowing how to make and break records, now pointed on purpose at everything we acquire."

Flo Rida said "Andrew, one of my A&Rs I've worked with for years had mentioned working on flipping some songs, he brought me a few ideas, and Vacation by The Go-Go's was one of the ideas. It was a very feel-good, fun-sounding idea and I'm always on the vibe of fun and a good feeling so it really connected with me."

The relaunch also marks the next phase of Seeker's Samplémoose program, which has given artists, songwriters and producers access to the company's catalog through writing camps, streamlined sample-clearance opportunities and direct creative collaboration. That strategy has already helped Seeker become a leader in catalog reinvention. Shaboozey's "A Bar Song (Tipsy)," which interpolates Seeker catalog cut "Tipsy" by J-Kwon, became the biggest song of 2024, PinkPantheress' massive "Stateside" flips catalog cut "Freak Like Me" by Adina Howard, and more new tracks by the likes of Drake, Pop Smoke, Coco Jones, Latto, Megan The Stallion, Sza and PARTYNEXTDOOR have also flipped songs represented by Seeker. With music is fun, the company will now take a more hands-on role in guiding those moments from the very beginning all the way through release.

The concept builds naturally on Bogart's own career as a songwriter behind era-defining hits including Beyoncé's "Halo," Rihanna's "SOS" (which famously samples Soft Cell's "Tainted Love"), and Sean Kingston's "Take You There." His, and the entire team's creative background gives Seeker a rare advantage for a music rights company: the instincts to recognize how an older song can become the foundation for something new, the relationships to bring the right collaborators together, and a creator's understanding of how that reinvention can honor the original work.

"Vacation" is the first in a planned slate of music is fun releases encompassing new singles, remixes, covers, collaborations and special projects.
