ASA and Pacira BioSciences Strengthen Strategic Collaboration Focused on Education, Quality Improvement and Patient Outcomes

CHICAGO - The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) today announced the continued expansion of its collaboration with Pacira BioSciences, Inc. through ASA's Corporate Supporter Program. Building on three years of engagement, ASA and Pacira are working to advance shared priorities in physician education, advocacy, quality improvement and evidence-based non-opioid approaches to pain management that support improved patient outcomes.

"Through ongoing dialogue and shared initiatives, we are advancing education for anesthesiologists, strengthening advocacy efforts and supporting quality improvement across the specialty. Earlier this spring, ASA and Pacira leadership met to discuss shared priorities and identify opportunities for collaboration. Those discussions led to the formation of joint workstreams focused on supporting the NOPAIN for Veterans Act and the reauthorization of the NOPAIN Act, both of which aim to ensure increased patient and provider access to qualifying non-opioid pain management options. Discussions also focused on opportunities to leverage quality improvement initiatives and data registries to enhance patient outcomes.

Through the Corporate Supporter Program, ASA and Pacira have established a strategic relationship focused on advancing the specialty of anesthesiology and improving patient care. Pacira is on ASA's Center for Perioperative Medicine Corporate Advisory Council, a forum for dialogue among industry and physician leaders focused on advancing perioperative care, patient safety, quality improvement, and innovation. Pacira will also host an interactive Satellite Symposium at ANESTHESIOLOGY^® 2026 on the TEAM model, with related content planned for future webinars and microlearning videos.
