Place 4 Councilmember to be on Feb. 7 Special Election ballot

LEANDER, Texas - Na'Cole Thompson, Councilmember Place 4, officially announced her candidacy for Leander Mayor on Thursday, Oct. 23, 2025, which requires her to resign from her Place 4 seat. However, Thompson will continue to serve as Councilmember Place 4 and Mayor Pro Tem until her successor is duly elected.

Councilmember Place 4 will be on the Special Election ballot Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, to fill an unexpired term of three years expiring in 2027. Also on the ballot will be Leander Mayor after Christine DeLisle recently resigned to move out of state. The Mayor position is also an unexpired three-year term expiring in 2027.

Timeline for Leander Special Election for Mayor and Place 4

  • Candidate packets are now available for pick up
  • Filing Period
    • First day to file for name to appear on ballot is Monday, Nov. 10, 2025
    • Last day to file for name to appear on ballot is Monday, Dec. 8, 2025
  • Early voting in person
    • Monday, Jan. 26, 2026, through Friday, Feb. 6, 2026, 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. (includes Saturday and Sunday)
    • Location: Pat Bryson Municipal Hall Council Chambers - (both Williamson and Travis County residents will vote at this polling location).
  • Election Day
    • Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
    • Voting location: Pat Bryson Council Chambers (both Williamson and Travis County residents will vote at this polling location).
