Get to Know Tricia Quade, Rapid City

By Lura Roti for South Dakota Farmers Union

As an insurance agent, Tricia Quade doesn't do much cold calling, but when she first started in the business it was not uncommon for her to walk into a business and introduce herself.

During one such visit, Quade sold a cancer policy.

"A month later, the client reached out to me and she asked, 'how did you know I would need a cancer policy?' She had just been diagnosed. She was self-employed and was not able to work during her treatment, but because she had the policy I sold her, she did not have to worry. It was crazy that I was able to help her like this."

Today Quade and this client are close friends. "Helping people is what I love about working in insurance sales," Quade said. "I love sitting down at the table with them and learning about their family, what they like to do. I love being there for them and helping them out in good times and the bad times too."

Quade joined the Farmers Union Insurance team recently, and compared to other companies she has represented, she values the fact that with Farmers Union she can offer her clients more.

"I love having all the options. If something doesn't not work for one client, I can look for a different product."
