Cuddle a Canine brings comfort and joy to UNM community Oct. 23

University Libraries announces its fall Cuddle a Canine event on Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Cactus Garden outside Zimmerman Library, across from the Duck Pond.

This long-standing University Libraries event offers students, faculty and staff a chance to relax, de-stress and connect with therapy dogs and their dedicated owners from the Southwest Canine Corps of Volunteers. The Albuquerque-based organization, with more than 30 years of experience, includes over 70 members and their dogs who bring comfort and joy to people throughout the community.

Cuddle a Canine has been a cherished part of campus life for over 10 years now, providing comfort and support to the UNM community during some of the most stressful times of the academic year.

The event is organized by University Libraries Access Services staff members Lucia Pierce and Tomás González, who have helped coordinate Cuddle a Canine each semester since 2022.

All members of the UNM community are invited to stop by and experience the therapeutic benefits of spending time with these friendly, furry companions. Don't miss this chance to take a break and recharge before the busy end of the semester.
