WASHINGTON, DC - This week, the House of Representatives voted to extend the expired Affordable Care Act (ACA) Enhanced Premium Tax Credits for three years. Seventeen Republicans joined all House Democrats in voting to pass this critical piece of legislation, which would help lower health insurance premiums and protect access to care.
"Americans are already struggling with cost of living, and Congress has the responsibility to protect our people from skyrocketing premiums and loss of care, that's why I introduced the Protecting Health Care and Lowering Costs Act last summer," said Rep. Gray, "While we should have taken care of this long before expiration, this is a step in the right direction and I urge my colleagues in the Senate to immediately take up and pass this bill."
Rep. Gray introduced the Protecting Health Care and Lowering Costs Act in August to reverse cuts to Medicaid and permanently extend the ACA tax credits. He has since consistently negotiated across the aisle to try to reach a bipartisan agreement on an extension.
