Point Breeze Credit Union Awards Scholarships to 20 Local Students

Point Breeze Credit Union awarded $40,000 worth of scholarships to talented recipients as part of their 20th Annual Scholarship Program.

This year's scholarship had a record number of applicants, resulting in an especially competitive pool.The entire Point Breeze Credit Union is thrilled to celebrate the 2026 recipients.

Recipients of this year's Annual Scholarship Awards are:

• Samarth Abhisheak, a graduate of Hereford High School who plans to attend University of Pennsylvania;
• Caris Adams, a graduate of Pikesville High School who plans to attend University of Maryland, Baltimore County;
• Christian Adams, a graduate of Pikesville High School who plans to attend Stevenson University;
• Nara Anusonti-Inthra, a graduate of Aberdeen High School who plans to attend Carnegie Mellon University;
• Sadie Atkinson, a graduate of Harford Technical High School who plans to attend Shenandoah University;
• Kendall Atwood, a graduate of Mercy High School who plans to attend University of South Carolina;
• Julia Dominick, a graduate of John Carroll School who plans to attend University of North Carolina at Charlotte;
• Hannah Hancock, a graduate of Harford Technical High School who plans to attend Harford Community College;
• Kayla Hayden, a graduate of Havre de Grace High School who plans to attend Temple University;
• Samara Kearson, a graduate of Concordia Prep School who plans to attend University of Maryland, College Park;
• Luke McKinney, a graduate of Dulaney High School who plans to attend Montana State University;
• Zachary Mears, a graduate of Edgewood High School who plans to attend University of Maryland, College Park;
• Madison Milam, a graduate of Winters Mill High School who plans to attend Elizabethtown College;
• Taylor Palmer, a graduate of Winters Mill High School who plans to attend University of Maryland, College Park;
• Allison Roberts, a graduate of Sparrows Point High School who plans to attend Widener University;
• Ashlyn Schrieber, a graduate of Bowie High School who plans to attend Salisbury University;
• Edward Simkins, a graduate of Hereford High School who plans to attend Hood College;
• Grace Towner, a graduate of Dulaney High School who plans to attend Indiana University of Pennsylvania;
• Samantha Watts, a graduate of Manchester Valley High School who plans to attend St. Mary's College of Maryland;
• Amber Woytowitz, a graduate of Bryn Mawr School who plans to attend Cornell University.

Applicants submitted two essays - one outlining their educational goals, and the other addressing their financial literacy strengths and weaknesses, plus opportunities for Point Breeze Credit Union to help them develop these skills. Requirements included a summary of extracurricular activities, a letter of acceptance for their post-high school institution, plus personal and academic references.

To be eligible for the scholarship awards, students must be graduating from high school in the current calendar year and be an owner, joint owner, or named on a custodial account in good standing with Point Breeze Credit Union.
