Dentons HPRP assists DAMAC Digital on its USD 2.3 billion investment in Indonesia’s largest AI data center

November 5, 2025

Dentons HPRP has successfully assisted DAMAC Digital, a global digital infrastructure company and member of the DAMAC Group, in connection with a land acquisition project in Cikarang, Indonesia, as part of DAMAC Digital's USD 2.3 billion (approximately IDR 37.5 trillion) investment to develop Indonesia's largest AI-dedicated data center.

The project, to be developed on 50,000 square meters of land, is expected to feature high-density AI racks with a projected capacity exceeding 144 MW and marks a significant milestone in advancing Indonesia's digital infrastructure landscape.

This landmark project follows DAMAC Digital's first data center investment in Indonesia, which closed in May 2024, involving the acquisition of land in Jakarta for the development of a 19.2MW hyperscale data center. The facility, positioned within one of Jakarta's most connected data center clusters, is designed to meet growing demand from cloud service providers, edge computing nodes, and AI-driven applications.

Dentons HPRP advised on all Indonesian legal aspects of both transactions, including title review, land structuring, and regulatory approvals.

The Dentons HPRP team advising on the Cikarang transaction comprised Trijoyo Ariwibowo (Partner), Hilwa Az Zahra Adwani (Associate), and Gregorius Alisander Ponglapik (Associate) while the earlier Jakarta transaction was handled by Al Hakim Hanafiah (Partner), Trijoyo Ariwibowo (Partner), Hilwa Az Zahra Adwani (Associate), and Gregorius Alisander Ponglapik (Associate).
