DALLAS, TX - Today, Congresswoman Julie Johnson (TX-32) announced that Addison Airport will receive $763,000 in federal funding from the U.S. Department of Transportation's Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) to reconstruct 1,800 feet of a paved, non-public service road providing access to airport hangars. The current road has reached the end of its useful life, making this investment critical for maintaining safe and reliable operations at Addison Airport.
"This critical investment is about safety and making sure we are investing in upgrading our region's airports," said Congresswoman Johnson. "Every pilot, worker, and flyer who depends on Addison Airport deserves infrastructure they can trust. This funding ensures that airport facilities remain safe, reliable, and ready to serve the needs of our growing North Texas community."
The funds were awarded through the Texas State Block Grant Program, administered by the Texas Department of Transportation - Aviation Division, and supported by the FAA.
"We are grateful to the FAA for this important investment in Addison Airport. Reconstructing the service road and a Taxilane connector will enhance safety, improve access for tenants and visitors, and ensure our airport continues to serve as a vital gateway for North Texas," said Addison Airport Director, Jaime Edrosa.
Congresswoman Johnson emphasized that this funding reflects the leadership of Congressional Democrats in passing the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law during the 117th Congress, which prioritized investments in infrastructure and public safety.
"This is a win for North Texas families and businesses made possible because of the Democratic Party's ability to put safety above politics and govern responsibly," Johnson continued. "Let me be clear: not a single Texas Republican voted for the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law to deliver this funding. This is the result of Congressional Democrats making airport safety and community investment a priority."
The Addison Airport (ADS) supports business aviation, corporate travel, and regional economic activity across Texas's 32nd Congressional District. The reconstructed service road will strengthen operational safety and reliability for years to come.
Congresswoman Julie Johnson represents Texas's 32nd Congressional District in the United States House of Representatives, serving on the Homeland Security Committee, Foreign Affairs Committee, and the House Administration Committee. Her district includes parts of Collin, Dallas, and Denton Counties.
