Cameron University to hold tuition flat during the 2026-2027 academic year

It's good news for Cameron University students and their pocketbooks this fall.

At today's meeting of CU's governing board - the Board of Regents for the University of Oklahoma, Cameron University and Rogers State University - Cameron recommended keeping tuition rates and mandatory fees flat for the 2026-2027 academic year, and regents agreed.

"We are very proud to not ask for a tuition increase again this year," said Cameron University president Shane Hunt. "Our student credit hour enrollment growth, fundraising success, and strong fiscal management have all been part of this decision. We are committed to giving students the best possible value for their higher education investment."

The decision reflects Cameron's mission to provide high-quality, affordable education to students and their families across southwest Oklahoma and north Texas, Hunt added. By keeping tuition steady, Cameron can continue its emphasis on access, support and student success.

Today's action by the governing board affirms that the university will continue to have one of the lowest tuition rates of any Oklahoma university offering bachelor's and master's degrees.

It is the second consecutive year that Cameron has not sought an increase in tuition or mandatory fees.

The decision means resident undergraduate students will continue to pay $180.50 per credit hour in tuition. For 30 credit hours of study over an academic year, with mandatory fees included, the annual cost is just less than $7,100 - far less than the national average of almost $12,000, according to the Education Data Initiative.

For graduate students, resident tuition is $223 per credit hour, or just less than $6,700 in annual cost for 24 credit hours of study.

Final action on Cameron's tuition request and those from all other state higher education institutions will be taken by the Oklahoma State Regents for Higher Education when it meets June 24-25 in Oklahoma City.
