National Law Journal Recognizes Dechert Lawyers for Litigation and Pro Bono Successes

Dechert lawyers have been recognized for leadership, legal excellence and pro bono success in the National Law Journal's 2026 D.C. Legal Awards, earning finalist recognition in an award program honoring those law firms and lawyers who have most profoundly shaped the legal landscape in the nation's capital in the past year.

Washington, D.C.-based litigator Christina Guerola Sarchio has been named one of three finalists for "Attorney of the Year." Ms. Sarchio has spent the past year combining an active litigation practice, which spans commercial and class action disputes, including sports law, media defense, pharmaceutical antitrust and consumer protection, with meaningful pro bono work on behalf of veterans that resulted in a landmark class action settlement for thousands of Navy and Marine Corps veterans, internal law firm leadership as Dechert's partner chair of global talent and external leadership as the 47th President of the Hispanic National Bar Association, a nonpartisan organization representing more than 78,000 Hispanic attorneys, legal professionals and law students.

Antitrust litigators Russell Cohen and Jay Jurata have been named finalists in the "Winning Litigators" category for leading the team that secured a high-profile jury trial victory for client Microsoft in Musk v. Altman, a landmark OpenAI case brought by Elon Musk. After a three-week trial in the U.S. District Court for the Northern District of California, a jury cleared Microsoft, along with OpenAI and its founders, in just two hours - an emphatic result given the case's scale, visibility and complexity.

Dechert's pro bono chair Suzanne Turner has also been named a finalist for "Community Impact Leader" for once again ensuring that the firm's pro bono efforts have brought about exceptional social impacts on a national and international stage. Some of the firm's recent pro bono achievements include a precedent-setting labor trafficking victory on behalf of four immigrant women who had been trapped in a debt-bondage scheme, as well as work on behalf of military veterans, immigrants, prisoners, domestic violence survivors, and the homeless.

Honorees and winners in the National Law Journal's D.C. Legal Awards will be recognized at a ceremony in Washington, D.C. on October 20.
