Mayor Freddie O’Connell, Metro partners release resource hub for residents losing SNAP benefits

NASHVILLE, TN: This morning, Mayor Freddie O'Connell joined Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts, and Second Harvest of Middle Tennessee President and CEO Nancy Keil to address resources for residents of Clarksville and Nashville facing a loss of nutrition assistance because of the ongoing federal government shutdown.

Featuring resources from Second Harvest and Metro's human service agencies, residents can connect with resources or places to donate via this resource hub at Nashville.gov/food . The hub includes information about Second Harvest's Hunger Can't Wait campaign.

"The people of Clarksville-Montgomery County know [Second Harvest Food Bank] to be an important partner in our ongoing efforts to provide food to those who need it most. Indeed, we're in a time where your help, without a doubt, is a lifeline to thousands more," said Clarksville Mayor Joe Pitts.

"I know Tennesseans to be very generous when there's a need. We rally to help a neighbor. We roll up our sleeves and get to work when there's work to be done. I have faith in Tennesseans, especially Middle Tennesseans, who answer the clarion call during this difficult season.
