SINGAPORE

15 DECEMBER 2025

Letter from Prime Minister and Minister for Finance Lawrence Wong to Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese

14 December 2025

The Hon Anthony Albanese MP

Prime Minister

Commonwealth of Australia

Dear Anthony,

I was deeply saddened to learn of the tragic shooting incident at Bondi Beach earlier today which claimed innocent lives and left many injured. This senseless violence struck a place cherished by Australians and visitors alike, including many Singaporeans.

Singapore strongly condemns this act of terrorism. Such acts have no place in our societies, and undermine the peace and security we all cherish.

On behalf of the Government of Singapore, I extend my deepest condolences to the families who have lost loved ones, and my heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured. At this painful and difficult time, Singapore stands firmly with Australia in solidarity and support.

Yours sincerely,

LAWRENCE WONG
