Elenger's first of five LNG cargoes scheduled for the winter season arrived this week from the United States at the Port of Inkoo in Finland. The shipment will supplement gas reserves at Latvia's underground storage facility and supply customers in Finland and the Baltic states.

According to Margus Kaasik, Chairman of the Management Board of Elenger Group, the Finland-Baltic region has sufficient gas supplies, with additional deliveries arriving throughout the winter.
"Latvia's underground gas storage facility, together with ongoing deliveries, ensures security of supply. Based on existing reserves and planned shipments, we consider the region well prepared for the coming winter," Kaasik explained.
The Inčukalns underground gas storage facility in Latvia currently holds a total of 12 terawatt-hours (TWh) of gas. During the previous heating season, approximately 12.4 TWh of gas was withdrawn from the facility, while around 4.5 TWh was injected into storage over the same period.
Elenger has at least four additional LNG cargoes scheduled for delivery between November and March, each containing approximately 1 TWh of gas. The next shipments are due to arrive in November and December, followed by further deliveries in the first quarter of next year.
"With global LNG production capacity continuing to expand, we expect the market to move towards a gas surplus rather than a shortage in the coming years," Kaasik added.
Natural gas reaches the Finland-Baltic region through the LNG terminals in Klaipėda, Lithuania, and Inkoo, Finland. The gas interconnection between Lithuania and Poland also links the Baltic states to the wider European gas network. Elenger sources its natural gas from the United States and Norway.
Elenger is the largest privately owned energy company in the Baltic-Finnish region, operating across the entire energy value chain, from trading and production to supplying end customers. The company serves more than 450,000 customers and employs over 1,000 people across the Group.
Elenger supplies customers with Western-sourced natural gas and renewable biomethane and operates more than 9,000 km of gas distribution networks in Estonia, Latvia and Poland. The company also sells electricity, including green electricity generated by its own solar parks, and is actively engaged in international energy trading.
Elenger is owned by the investment company Infortar, which is listed on the Nasdaq Tallinn Baltic Main List.
