WASHINGTON - Last night, U.S. Representative Brittany Pettersen (CO-07) hosted a telephone town hall with constituents across Colorado's 7th Congressional District, giving nearly 8,000 Coloradans the opportunity to ask questions, share their concerns, and hear directly from Rep. Pettersen about the issues impacting their families and communities.
During the call, Rep. Pettersen spoke about fighting back against the Trump administration, protecting access to affordable health care, reining in the actions of ICE, and standing up for the rights and safety of Coloradans.
"Nearly 8,000 Coloradans took the time to call in because they're worried about their families, their health care, and the direction our country is headed," said Rep. Pettersen. "As Trump escalates attacks on Colorado and unlawfully withholds critical funding, sends ICE into our state to terrorize communities, and threatens our NATO allies abroad - I want people to know that we are here to support them in every way we can and they are not alone. I will continue to fight back against the cruelty and lawlessness of this Administration and also work to find common ground with my colleagues where I can. It is going to be a very tough road ahead but we are going to get through it together."
Pettersen continued, "Thank you to everyone who joined, to those who are stepping up to support your neighbors and community in need, and thank you for caring about the future of our country. I know that you aren't going to give up on the country we love, and I promise to continue to fight alongside you."
Since coming to Congress, Pettersen has been a champion for working families and children in Colorado. As a mom of two, she has pushed back against Trump's policies that would increase costs for child care, health care, and other basic necessities for families.
