First 700 Saglemi housing units ready by March 2027.

21 August 2026

The long-stalled Saglemi Housing Project is back on track, with the first 700 units scheduled for completion and sale by March 2027. The remaining 800 units are expected by December 2027.

The announcement was made during a site inspection led by President John Dramani Mahama. During the tour, Mr Kofi Aduhene, CEO of LMI Group, the private-sector developer, assured the President that timelines for the two- and three-bedroom apartments would be strictly met.

Highlighting the critical infrastructure secured for the site, Mr Aduhene stated: "Water supply is fully secured via a new treatment plant and pipeline from Dawa, while high-speed internet will be delivered directly to every home through a fibre-optic extension connected to Google's Dawa infrastructure."

President Mahama commended LMI Group for the rapid progress made under the Public-Private Partnership (PPP) framework and urged the developers to maintain momentum so the homes can be handed over around Easter 2027.

"We trust your commitment," President Mahama said during his closing remarks. "We expect that when we return next March, around Easter, we shall gather here to commission the first 700 units and hand them over to homeowners."

To address housing affordability and ease the burden of high rent advances nationwide, President Mahama revealed that financial institutions, including the Home Ownership Fund, have introduced accessible mortgage packages. These products will help everyday Ghanaian families by covering the initial 10% deposit and offering low-interest, long-term loans.
