OWU Students Tapped for National Honor Society in Recognition of Scholarship, Leadership, Service

DELAWARE, Ohio - Ohio Wesleyan University tapped eight students this spring for membership in the Mortar Board national honor society. Mortar Board recognizes students for "exemplary scholarship, leadership, and service."

The honor society, founded in 1918, also "provides opportunities for continued leadership development, promotes service to colleges and universities, and encourages lifelong contributions to the global community." Headquartered in Columbus, Ohio, Mortar Board has 236 chapters in 45 states nationwide.

Ohio Wesleyan's new 2026-2027 Mortar Board members are:

  • Katelynn Combs of Bunker Hill, West Virginia
  • Izzy Fry of Dublin, Ohio
  • Ryleigh Jones of Newark, Ohio
  • Elena Katsinou of Thessaloniki, Greece
  • Shelby Matt of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania
  • Kavyanjali Sidhanta of Navi Mumbai, Maharashtra, India
  • Ben Staggers of Greencastle, Indiana
  • Adia Szell of Hiram, Ohio
