SCO Secretariat Delegation Visit to the Tibet Autonomous Region of China
On September 23-27, 2025, a delegation of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization Secretariat headed by Deputy Secretary General Batir Tursunov traveled to the Tibet Autonomous Region together with the ambassadors of Azerbaijan, Armenia, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Moldova, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan accredited in China.
During the visit, organized by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People's Republic of China and the People's Government of Tibet, the diplomats visited the cities of Nyingchi and Lhasa, where they got acquainted with the achievements of the region in the social, economic and tourism spheres over the past 60 years.
The delegation visited a number of large economic and cultural facilities, educational institutions, as well as the Yueling Industrial Park.
During the meeting with the leadership of the Tibet Autonomous Region, the sides exchanged views on the prospects for developing regional cooperation through the organization of joint projects in the field of tourism and cultural exchanges.
